Residential Property Fee Earner
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Residential Property Fee Earner ideally with over three years experience to join our established team at our New Mills office.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team or without supervision and requiring no admin support.
You should be able to use a combination of both paper and electronic files and present a professional image both electronically, verbally and face to face with clients.
Key responsibilities:
Working on a wide range of residential transactions including straight forward sales and purchases, re-mortgages and equity release.
- Dealing with initial enquiries including giving quotations
- Responsible for client files from the start to the finish of the transaction, including post completion
- Dealing with leasehold properties for both purchasing and selling
- Business development, through building relationships with Estate Agents or other introducers of work, including knowledge of and involvement in the local community and networking
- Other business development activities for the firm under the direction of the Head of Department
- Participation in departmental meetings organised by the Head of Department.
Essential skills:
- Three+ years residential experience
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- The ability to manage and progress a caseload and offer pragmatic advice
- The ability to work as a team or independently
- Maintain the firms core values: Teamwork, Integrity and Excellence.

Commercial Property Solicitor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Property Solicitor ideally with over two years PQE, but we will consider someone who is a qualified Residential Solicitor with a genuine interest in this area, to join our commercial property team at our Wilmslow office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for progressing their own files whilst being part of a supportive team environment.
The commercial property team deal with a wide range of commercial property transactions including buying/selling commercial property, landlord & tenant, commercial lending and bespoke commercial property agreements.
Our clients include individuals, local businesses, banks, charities and pension trustees.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing bespoke legal advice for our clients
- Undertaking all aspects of commercial property work which will include drafting sale contracts, commercial leases, legal charges, overage agreements, collaboration agreements and promotion agreements
- Building and maintaining client relationships
- Contribute towards business development

Essential skills:
- Qualified Solicitor
- Two years + PQE
- Demonstrate a specialism in commercial property law
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- The ability to manage and progress a caseload and offer pragmatic advice
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently.

Litigation Solicitor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Litigation Solicitor ideally with over five+ years PQE, to join our Wilmslow office.
The successful candidate will work without supervision and require no admin support.
You will maintain high standards of service to ensure that clients use and recommended the practice again in the future and support initiatives launched by the practice to develop new business across the firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate as there is potential for this role to become an Associate within the firm.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice to a mix of Commercial and Civil Litigation matters. With particular emphasis on experience in dealing with boundary disputes and easement disputes (such as rights of way).
- Conduct legal research and draft documents
- Represent clients in Court and negotiate settlements
- Work unsupervised and generate your own client base by promoting the firm with your reputation
- Maintain the firms core values: Teamwork, Integrity and Excellence.
Essential skills:
- A Solicitor with five+ years PQE who is able to work unsupervised and generate their own client base
- We require experience of different areas of litigation especially in the area of contentious property. This would not suit someone who is currently working in personal injury.
The applicant must be able to commute on a daily basis to our Wilmslow office. We may allow remote working on an ad-hoc basis after the probationary period.

Work experience
Chafes Hague Lambert Solicitors recognise the need for people considering a career in law to undertake work experience. We do not provide placements unless you are studying for A-levels or higher level qualifications. Currently all our work experience placements are committed.
Training contracts
In order to ensure that we offer good quality experience with future prospects we do not have a programme of training contracts. We prefer to identify specific training opportunities and then recruit a trainee solicitor accordingly. Currently we have no such opportunities.
