Our Legal Apprentice, Kate Wright, doing her stuff for Pancreatic Cancer UK

We are super proud of our Legal Apprentice Kate as she did a fantastic run in the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 14th April.

Kate

The 26.21 mile course ran (no pun intended) right across Manchester, starting and finishing at Old Trafford. Kate ran in the Cyan wave of the marathon.

Kate has been training hard since the New Year but is no stranger to long runs, as she did the Manchester 10k last year.

Kate is doing these runs to raise money for pancreatic cancer as she lost her Grandfather Mick to the disease in 2015. She said “the survival rate for people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is so low that half the people diagnosed die within three months. Therefore, I felt that raising money for support, research and time is extremely important. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They’re supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning and funding vital research to transform the future. So by running the Manchester Marathon I want to raise money to help them make the break throughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.”

Kate was aiming to raise £750 but has so far raised £1360 so if any of you can spare any money towards her fundraising, please go to the Just Giving page for which the link is on her picture or below, it would be very much appreciated.
