Specialist areas:

  • Consumer Credit law
  • Acting for borrowers in the ‘sub-prime’ market
  • Acting for commercial borrowers in breach of contract claims

About me:

I head up the Specialist Litigation Team. I have been active in making claims for borrowers in the ‘sub-prime’ market for over 20 years. I have a particular expertise in:

Recovery of Secret Commissions

Mis-selling of PPI so as to create an Unfair Relationship

Breach of Contract Claims where Lenders have failed to properly calculate the sums payable under the Loan Agreements

Key cases:

  • Falco Finance Ltd v Gough – a landmark decision where the charging of a flat rate of interest, a dual interest rate and penalty early redemption provisions were found to be ‘extortionate’ under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and to contravene the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contract Regulations 1994
  • Igroup v Freel – a class action claim looking at the enforceability of regulated loans and the consideration of the meaning of ‘the amount of credit’ under the Consumer Credit Act 1974

My top tip: Always look forward.
