I’m a Solicitor working in our Tax, Trust & Estates Department.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2018 and have specialised in private client work covering wills, probate, trusts, tax, lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection.
During my career I have developed particular skills in dealing with complicated Court of Protection matters in particular specialism in Court of Protection deputyship applications, ongoing day to day management and annual reports.
I aim to bring a calming approach and a practical head in best dealing with emotionally sensitive matters and guiding clients through difficult and often complex situations.
I advise clients on the preparation of their wills and lasting powers of attorney. I also guide clients through what is an emotionally difficult time when dealing with a loved one’s estate. I am empathetic, supportive and deal with the estate in a caring and practical manner.
When a client does not have the capacity to deal with their affairs themselves, I help guide them and their families through the Court of Protection process to allow them to make decisions in respect of their Property and Finances and their Health and Welfare.
Having previously worked in a litigation setting I can bring a wealth of experience and knowledge from this area and transfer it to help understand sometimes complex situations that have resulted from a litigious situation. I can then use this knowledge and adapt this to help deal with work often involving trusts and often more than one party.
- I have helped clients who have unfortunately been unable to look after their own affairs and also have no loved ones to help them to put their affairs in order. I have done this through the Court of Protection process and allowed them to access their monies and helped apply for benefits on their behalf and protected their assets for them
- Tailored client’s specific requests in terms of their wills to make sure their wishes are correctly recorded and also helped tailor their Will to consider care fees in the future.
My top tip
It is never too early to consider making a will and once you have made one always remember to re-visit it to make sure it is up to date where possible.
